Did you catch artist Tina Trachtenburg's "flash flock" this weekend in Washington Square Park? Her soft sculpture pigeons can be found making appearances around the city on fine days. Trachtenburg, a passionate advocate for animal rights, creates her realistic pigeons out of felt, yarn, and recycled clothing, and then installs her flocks in public places to raise awareness for the rights of NYC's winged, less popular, residents.
